I was going through some old slides and found pics of my dad and grandfather working on Dad's L-2M. Ran the N number and got a hit.
I think I will write a letter to the owner and see what is up with the old plane. Kind of exciting.

i could use some excitement tom!! don't know if you heard anything but i think the huron county airport may close. if true i'm sure your not surprised. on the plus side the wakeman airport is back w/ the ortner family after over 30 years. i'm trying to do some pr work for them. their heart is in it, they spent over 300 thousand dollars just to re-pave the airstrip & taxi ways. they are slated to build a new hangar, the office has been re-done, on & on!! i'll keep you posted.

Amen.
I've been trying to find any info on my dad's WW2 Jeep he owned in the 50s, still havent found a serial # yet, so for what it's worth, OD, I understand what you're trying to do. You've tracked down your white wale, I hope get to reel her in now! :supz:

Tom
That would be sad if Norwalk-Huron County closed. My dad built the FBO building, and helped Jim Esker stake out the runways.
Dad helped sponster airshows featuring Debi Gary and others. Dad and I tried to build a museum with tanks and Helicopters. The airport authority shot us down. We could have brought bite military vehicle shows and airshows back, but they said no. Their loss and I am not surprised they ran the place to ground.

Part of me says ha ha, karma sucks!

I hope the Ortners do well. Dad always spoke highly of Dean.

yes, huron county airport is & always was a royal political cluster f**k. you & your dad could have really put this hayseed area on the map. with a little foresight from the county things could have taken off for your museum, but no way, always the hard way here. that's why were the new youngstown ohio here of the 21st century!
