You'll note I didn't use the term "wreckage"... because amazingly, there seems to be enough left of this thing to possibly serve as the basis for a static restoration. (Obviously, it's wrecked, but it's in better shape than most other Med wrecks I've seen recovered). All they have to do now is go get the rest of it!

Found this via Srecko Bradic's "LET LET LET Warplanes" group on Facebook... anyone here fluent in Greek?

If they don't get it into a water tank soon, there will be nothing left to restore!

I remain very impresses with the planning and execution of the Norwegian Heinkel recovery, down to keeping it hosed down while getting it disassembled and put into the fresh water tank. I fear for the Arado.

Given the Norwegians had planned for several years prior to the 115 raising, this fishing net recovery can't be compared. There is nothing in place to preserve it. Might yield some useful parts if nothing else I guess.

Aha - I didn't realize this was a fishing trawler find. I'd assumed that it was an intentional recovery.

One of my friends sent me this
I had a look at the Greek chat; the wreckage was delivered to the port authorities and the HAF was informed on the find. No other information (dated 17/2/13) provided...
