Hi guys
Am hoping you experts can help - I would like to know exactly what data stencils were found on the B-17G - their position on the aircraft and what they said?
I'm aware of a couple - the one on the left side of the nose, and the one on the front of the chin turret - but there must be more?

Can you help me clear up this mystery? I'm a scale modeller and accuracy is the key!

I am also looking for photos of Wartime B-17G nose interiors showing the equipment installed - I only have one photo so far!

Hope you can help & thanks in advance
best wishes
Rich

One source for stencil examples would be, surprisingly, the Lacey Lady aka the Bomber Gas Station in Milwaukie, OR - when I saw it I noticed a lot of the original markings underneath were intact. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me... :(

You want a detailed model?
I think I have what you are looking for,
the location and text associated with
each external airframe stencil, but for a B-17E.

As soon as I'm finished cleaning the drawing up,
I'll let you know. Email me if you want a glimpse
as to what I'm working on.

that would be fantastic - I don't suppose there was that much difference between the stencils on the different marks....
