Does anyone have a photo they can post of the telescopic sight sometimes seen on early
B-17Es?

Even though this is mounted on a 30 cal ANM2 it is the same telescopic sight and mounting base that was used on the 50 cal ANM2 gun. I can see why it was short lived as it sure seems like a very impractical sight to use for air to air gunnery. There are even windage and elevation adjustments on this sight!

Actually, I'm not sure. I don't recall those scope rings which are the same as you'd see on a deer rifle. Thanks for posting it.

:shock: Good night...I would have thought trying to hit a closing fighter with the ring and bead sights would have been tough. I can't imagine trying to do it with a telescopic one.

What was the magnification on the scope?
