It is based at Addison airport North of Dallas with Lewis Shaw. Here are some recent pictures I took at a private strip in Decatur, TX last April. It is flown regularly.

Interesting. I was at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum at the Addison airport a few months ago and I only saw the Mustang pictured below. Is the from above associated with the Museum or is it based at a private hanger?

FF-704 is in a private hangar. Also in the hangar is a REALLY nice Waco Cabin and a Temco Super Pinto. All with the same owner.

When the Lefty sold the Mustang it went to Breckenridge and was restored by Neson Ezell and family. The Super Pinto was also rebuilt by Nelson.
An update for the Mustang is here:

A link for the Pinto is here:

Nelson, Chad, Ashley, Steve, Randy, and co. do not receive the press that other companies do (you have to really want to get there to be there!), but the results speak volumes. Plus, you will not find nicer people anywhere. :D Alan

That's in Blakeslee's colours, 4th FG isn't it? I remember the museum featuring in Classic Wings once (waaaaay back when it was still Classic Wings Downunder on the cover) and Graham Orphan joked that they had the codes painted on specially for the mag's visit to Cavanaugh!

Memory working overtime after being away from the Warbird world for 2 years!

Cheers

That WACO is way beyond nice. Isn't it an Oskosh grand champ?

Don't know about the "civilian" aircraft, but the 2 warbirds have won awards at Oshkosh.

And, the owner was a real gentleman both times we have met.

Very nice indeed. Would make a great example to make a 1/4-1/5 scale for RC flight.
