it would be a shame not to promote it!! looks excellent. "try historic aviation" out of Minnesota. they are a huge military aviation catalog, all they do are lated aviation books, models, art, gifts, etc. I just love looking at the catalog as it's cool in it's own right. they'll snap up some of your books for certain!! the company is owned by warbirder Gregg herrick. good luck!!! :supz:

I didn't include this photo in the book as the resolution was too low. But, I love the look on the guy's face.

Thanks! I was lucky to find a number of unpublished photos including a couple of Royal Navy F6F-5Ns.

Fan-flippin'-tastic, Alan- this one's going right on the "must have" list. On a related note, have you found pics of the F7F-3s and -3Ns used by VMF(N)-531 at Eagle Mountain Lake in August-September 1945? I was browsing the unit's War Diary listings over on Fold3.com and was extremely (EXTREMELY) surprised to see they had -3s on strength as early as July '45, with a couple SCR-720 equipped -3N's showing up in late September. I don't think I've ever seen a -3N photo that wasn't taken in Korea, and would love to find some shots of these early birds.

Great topic, glad you've taken it on!

Lynn
