I have many varied interests, but I don't subscribe to any magazine right now (other than publications that come with memberships). I generally go to the local book store every couple weeks and look through warbird, train, model making and history magazines, and I'll buy whatever spins my spurs. After a while, you notice that there's only a finite amount of stuff a magazine can put out, then you're reading it all over again. Me dad figured this out for me when I was much younger, when he'd been readinf gun magazines for so long, he said, magazines are like western movies, there's only a limited number of article types, then it's all variations on a theme. Heck, I was the staff cartoonist to a magazine published in the UK, and I never read any of those issues other than once, and I got them for free as part of my compensation for having my work published by them. They eventually went belly up and I haven't opened up one since then, even though it's a subject matter I really like. I used to buy magazines all the time, and I rarely do anymore. I can't recall the last warbird magazine I've bought, but I thumb through most of them each month at the local bookstore. Every now and then, something will be in there that spins my spurs, and I will buy one.
