I've seen it written that the name Tomcat was originally considered for what came to be called the Hellcat, but that it was rejected as being too...well, suggestive. I've also seen the same thing written about the Tigercat--that it was originally to be called the Tomcat.

Does anybody know if either or both of these theories are true?
