I spent a blistering hot day at the CAF DFW Wing's annual Warbirds On Parade event at their home airfiled in Lancaster, Texas. The high was 105 deg F, and on that blacktop ramp, it felt like I was standing on the surface of the sun. This is not a huge event, but there is always some interesting stuff to see, and it's nice to meet up with old friends and share the gift of gab. Below is a selection of photos from the event. They're certainly not Al Sauer quality, but they'll have to do. I got lazy and only took my little point 'n shoot camera (didn't feel like luggin the big camera bag around in the heat).

The Hind flew after the whole thing was over and everyone was gone. Unfortunately, I was in my car heading down the road away from the airport when that happened, so I couldn't get a picture. It has, however, been posted on WIX before (I got pics of it flying back in 2010).
