Nice article & tks for the info. On a similar subject:

(FYI):
There is another poss FG-1D FAS 219 under 200/300 ft of water off the S/E coast El Salvador, near Puerto La Union. It went down due to friendly fire c. July 16-17, 1969. The pilot Capt. Echeverria managed either to bailed out or to be rescued & he survived with minor burns.

We recently heard fm a Salvadorean POC that may know some more details of the exact location of this plane. Will the folks of IU Archaelogy Dpt will be interested in another project? Our colleague FAH503 mentioned this subject awhile ago and may be a good idea to pursue it.

The pilot lives now somewhere in Canada & C/w.com will do the best to track him. I'm sure he still has all the details. Perhaps our Canadian folks can give us some hints also.
