i figured you knowledgable people could gimme the skinny on the playground sabre, from lunken airport's make believe land. shared acreage with a tank and a duck, various railroad pieces. all now cleaned away so all cincy children can have two eyes and no lasting scars, other than the emotional ones from having touched weaponry. seen here at an airshow maybe ten years ago, following playground extraction.

F-86H-10-NH c/n 203-300, 53-1528, ex-121st TFS, DC ANG

Placed at the playfield in ~1960, moved to the field proper for storage at an unknown date. Repossessed by the USAF August 16, 2010 for use as a parts donor for the restoration of another Hog at the Robins Museum of Aviation, though I'm not entirely sure which. Present status unknown, probably scrapped, sadly.

The tank and DUKW are news to me, all I was aware of was a Locomotive, which went to a private collector in the SW Ohio area. Any idea what kind of tank? The earliest satellite/aerial images I've located of the F-86H at the playfield only show it and the loco.

from my friend craig, who was following a similar post on my facebook page:
Here's the story from my dad about driving the tank to the Lunken Airport Playfield:
"This is what i remember. It was an m-41 Korean war era tank. I drove it from the old Mt. Healthy armory off Pippin Road. The only person who can verify the trip is former First Sergeant Tom Weaver, who now lives I think in either North or South Carolina. He was my guide.
There was a second one Tom Weaver and I delivered to the railroad yard on Laidlaw Avenue. Both times we had a bunch of pissed off automobile drivers."
So, yeah... I guess my old man really did delivery that tank to the playground.

Wherever the M41 is it is probably still owned by the US Army via TACOM. Its possible they are seeking it. They have a list of wayward goodies from what I understand.
