With the line that separates my buttcheeks almost erased from sitting for so dang long . . .
I made it a few hours ago to Albuquerque; already
scouted Kirtland, drove on the neighborhoods close to the Rio Grande, and discovered the nose of a Cessna Citation inside a metal fabricating compound.
Also, saw a US Army training camp on Highway 350, south of La Junta, CO (a former USAAC bomber training base during WWII). An M-60, an M-113 and an old artillery piece decorate the main entrance to the camp.
Not much in the way of aircraft; weather was very bad almost all the way from Salina, KS, with snow in the high elevations in Colorado and NM.
Of interest, but too fast to take any photos, I saw a guy towing a trailer with a Hiller helo, and another with what looked like a home-made rocket, but heading the opposite direction.
Any special requests for photos and data from Albuquerque and environs, I will try my best to help.
Lastly, too late for Balloon Fiesta, which ended yesterday : (
Saludos,
Tulio
