We powerwashed and primed the entire exterior as well as filled/sanded a number of areas that needed help. In talking with the USAF folks they recommended a good house primer as that would help the durability of the final coat.

The paint itself is a high grade silver that was recommended by several folks we talked to; its not the chain link fence paint! :0

Not quite sure why we have 2 threads on this.

But in any case, look forward to seeing what the F-105B paint scheme will look like. Will it be one from the 4th TFW at Seymour-Johnson AFB?

I goofed on my response logging in from another computer

Still working on the details...either Delaware ANG or 4th FG....likely the latter as it would be hard to present something like that in east central Ohio!

As far as I know, the Delaware ANG never flew the F-105. As far as the F-105B, I think the New Jersey ANG were the only ANG unit to fly the F-105B in aluminum finish. The 4th TFW is probably the best choice as I don't think the NJ ANG had much color in their F-105B aluminum finish aircraft (may be wrong).

We are talking about a B model Thunderchief, right?
