Hello everyone, I have seen a few of these and thought I would post them, these are kid pedal airplanes, the shoe is in the photograph to give you a sense of scale. Please add any photos you might have of pedal planes........

Urbana Ohio, These folks are also building a B-17 from scratch so I guess this was a trial project, if you can build this why not a full size B-17?

Great attention to detail on that T-6, but I am in love with that F3F. I seriously want to make one of those for my daughter now. :)

The photos don't do them justice, its really had to tell the size without something else in the pic, like a kid in the cockpit.....

Those are neat. My boy has a pedal tractor (mine when I was a kid) and a pedal car, so I'm thinking he NEEDS some kind of pedal plane...

I wanted to share my daughter pedal plane. Thanks Owen for pointing this out, and urging me to share. It's an Aviation Products, Inc. P-51 that I painted up with 'Wild' Bill Bailey's "Double Trouble Two" P-51.

I cataloged the build on this website, for those that are looking to build one. They are not particularly difficult, but they are not cheap and easy either. Here is the build website: http://p51dpedalplane.blogspot.com/
On a side note, it wasn't until the photo shoot with the real McCoy that I realized I screwed up the markings with regards to the letters!

This project just rocked my world... I am almost positive I've seen this out at the museum (or one like it), and I didn't realize it was something I could build myself. As a lifelong modeler, I have a sudden desire to build one of these for my daughter. And of course, it will have to be...

Daddy's Girl. :D

Thanks so much for sharing this Scott, it's positively inspirational! (BTW, looks like you bought your plywood at the Home Depot on LaSalle in Hampton... :) )

Here is one I made my son many years ago.... I had him pose like the Goodyear pilots did in the 1940's midget races.

As it worked out, the following year was the year of the F2G at our SARH Symposium and I had him bring his picture and get it signed by Cook Cleland, Dick Becker, Ron Puckett, and Don Armstrong.

It has wingtip lights, a compass, and a clock for instruments. I purchased the plans from an add in a magazine and modified them to make it wider and for the wings to be removable for long term storage.

A guy up the street kept on calling it a P-47...........

Hi Lynn,

VERY good call on the Home Depot! I was stationed up there in Virginia for 9 years, and I just left the area back in July 2009. I had coordinated the photo shoot with Dr. Hunt at the Military Aviation Museum, and they said he was going to do something with the pictures. I'll be up in the Tidewater area in a few weeks and I hope to head over and check it out again. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to help.

I bought the plans for the Mustang kit. I'll be building it for my son's 3rd birthday. Markings will be "Little Rebel", only seems appropriate for the little guy.

Nice corsair and mustang. Any sources for plans for either a Corsair or a P-47? I have some scale drawings that I might actually make for a nephew, maybe a spitfire or a t-bolt.
