$450 for a small 1 inch part of aluminum! I would not be surprised if that is a huge fake!

The pictures look real enough!

Could be a meatball but the photos seem to be the real prize. Suggests that there maybe a section of a zero (center, engine and wings) and a nearly whole BETTY BOMBER (outer starboard wing missing) still out there as of 2002!

While selling a $450 piece of possible history online is remarkable. Seems the real money would be (IF IT IS REAL?) in permission and recovery of those two or just the Betty. Hell that's enough for Planes of Fame or NASM Betty to get started (ie. Restore a WHOLE Betty--I know I'm dreaming but hey?).

Photo maybe from years ago but wonder if anything is left of the Betty after the salvagers, rebels, and ebayers have picked up there pieces?

Whether or not it's real or contrived is Known only to the seller.

I can state for a fact that what I'm offering is real!

Sounds great, lets chop up the Japanese a/c and sell them on EBay. They pay far more then the Scrappers. This trend could be the death of the rest of the aircraft that are out there.

Anyone remember the Johnny Cash song “One piece at a Time”, you too could have a Betty, just buy it one piece at a time on EBay.

If the guy is selling that for $450 without a reserve, wouldnt surprise me if it was a fake.

Hey Jack, where did you get the F4U peice. And whats the reserve? Please?

Tom Blackburn. He became a close friend when I lived in Jax. He gave me a lot of stuff. I have 2 other pieces which is the only reason I'm parting with this one.
