Anyone Catch the pilot episode of "Believe" on NBC the other night, the 10th I believe. If not, its available on "On Demand" with Comcast and I'm sure its on to view with other providers as well.

If you did catch it, you probably saw a little bit of plane action in it. That was us with our C-123K, Thunder Pig. That shoot was done on Long Island Last April.

Our plane will also be found in an upcoming Blockbuster Film that will begin playing in May/June.

Lol, yeah I just watched the episode tonight.

At the meeting tonight (monthly members meeting), they were all wondering how they did the air-air shot as all of our shots were done on the ground.. As I watched it, I realized what they did. They took a clip of a C-130 tanker, removed the outboard props and put an AH on the tail.

And I'm sure we will definitely cross paths this year, at least I hope we do. I personally haven't seen the 54 since Hagerstown, 2010. Good luck this year, I know as of now, we only have four shows booked for the 123 and three interested in the C-47.

On the subject of Air Heritage and the 'Pig', I was dismayed to learn from a Chris Henry facebook post of the passing of my longtime friend Virgil Wyke, a Crew Chief on the "Pig".

For the last 19 or so years on the airshow circuit, we have never struck up such a camaraderie with any other crew as we had with the Thunder Pig gang.(National Capital Squadron of CAF might be the exception)

A little research revealed that Virgil passed in February. I can't recall a time when we were together when we didnt all sit around and listen to Virgil's Air Guard stories and talk C-97's and other such nonsense. We looked to him for advice and really just enjoyed his kinship. Our crew has always had a great relationship with the gang on the 'Pig', and it was always a joy to land at a show and see that C-123 sitting there having arrived before us.

In hindsight, I'm extremely glad we all got together this past summer at the Dayton Air Show, having not seen the Pig in a while.

Can someone PM me Virgil's address, so that I may send a letter to Lois (his wife) and the rest of his family?

The airshow community has lost another great man. Godspeed Virgil Wyke, you were loved by many. I know the C-54 "Spirit of Freedom" crew did.

Sorry Kevin, did not think to pm you as well. I let Chris know yesterday about his passing and made a brief mention of it in our C-47 Thread. I personally only found out about it last week.

He passed away suddenly while at church from a massive heart attack and died instantly.
