Hopefully most can see these as I believe I set them to Public.

Posting a few samples below.

According to the announcer this was a Stinson.

And... according to the announcer, this was a Stearman.

To be frank, the announcer stank this year. He was throwing the pilots "under the bus" everytime he couldn't tell what they were going to do next. Made it sound like all of the pilots were just a bunch of yahoos making things up, which I doubt. Not only that, but for someone announcing airshows, he sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about, stuff like the P-51 being the only aircraft with that engine - speaking of the Packard Merlin. Even my brother-in-law knew some of that stuff was off.

Image
The guys from Hondo have sure brought their bird a LONG way!

It was a good, fun show, if a little light this year. Hopefully there won't be as many scheduling conflicts next year.

Ryan

The "Stinson" and "Stearman" are out of alphabetical order

At my favourite airshow, there is a half of the flightline with no speakers. It's for those who don't want to have to listen, to this years know it all.

The white T-28A in USAF markings image is of the CAF High Sky Wing's plane, flown by Bob Keating. The second is the HSW Fairchild J2K "TarBaby" in Coast Guard colors being flown by Daniel Rathbun. The brightly colored T-28A is owned by a HSW member and flown to the show by Mark Haskin, a HSW pilot. James Martin, one of the HSW pilots, flew his personal SNB-5 Twin Beach, and I was in the HSW SNJ-5 but had a starter problem and didn't fly in the show. We are fixing that ASAP. Just FYI.

I'm sorry, but I didn't. I didn't even get any good shots of Lady02Pilot's bird, either. We were just in a really bad spot for photos, and except for a couple of excursions away from my Taylorcraft it was pretty hard to get good shots.

Here's a quick comparison of the two Douglas birds at Burnet.

We'll start with the hosts' ship: Bluebonnet Belle

Next is the Spirit of Hondo

Both are beautifully maintained.

Nice pics! Now if only we'd been able to bring the Houston Wing C-60 Lodestar to mix it up with the C-47s... eh, maybe next year.
