I am taking a trip up to Georgia soon and would like to see some B-29s & Tom Reilly's XP-82. Does anyone have information
on where Liberty Belle is? I heard it is in Georgia but I don't know where. The ones I know of are 'City of Langford' at Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park, 'Sweet Elouise' at Dobbins AFB and 'Big Red' in the Museum of Aviation at Robins AFB. I know where Tom Reilly's-XP is. Any information about Warbirds in Georgia will be appreciated. :?:

Tom Reilly's place is also located at the airport in Douglas, Georgia, where the Liberty Foundation has their maintenance facility.

So is the foundation actually working on restoring the Liberty Belle? A rather extensive search of the Interwebs doesn't yield any useful information. I don't see a thread here (missed it?) and there is literally ZERO on the http://www.libertyfoundation.org website. The most recent news is from two years ago.

Are they still attempting to raise funds to start restoration? What's up?

Meanwhile I'll have a beer. :drink3:

If I'm not wrong, they are not restoring Liberty Bell but the B17 recovered in a canadian lake by the same owner, before the Liberty Belle accident.
The restoration of the Bell will be a different restoration, not yet started from what I heard.

The rebuild of the Belle is underway currently inside one of the WW2 hangars not 100 yds from the P-82.Most of the forward fuselage is done and working towards the radio room.Want it to go faster? Come help.

Strange answer...

But it's Liberty Bell or the canadian lakes one currently in restoration ?
According pictures posted by one the restoration team member (and poster here occasionnaly) it was mainly the canadian lake one, at least until recently.
See there : http://aerovintage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1460

Or they recently decided to "merge" the two planes in one restoration, but it's was not what they announced after the Liberty Belle mischap.

There is no life before coffee. Coffee is the missing link in evolution. I assure you, without coffee I revert back into being an 800 pound gorilla in a matter of minutes.
