extremely rare but tragic footage from the Japanese perspective. although I've never seen any film footage of the ki 61/ tony or the raiden / jack fighter footage. thank you!

There's several more films that go with this one. Too graphic to post.

Looking at 5:43, the two tires are different. Was there a specific reason for this or just field expediently mismatched tires?

Could be as simple as two different brands of tires. You can still get ribbed and diamond tread tires for some of the common warbird sizes.

With people standing alongside, the Raiden/Jack looks small, but in checking my books, it's the same size as most fighters of the time.

Wonder what happened to the Corsair pilot? It look like he bellied it in...
After reading Unbreakable, I'd hated to have been a POW in Japan.

The stories from my first wife's grandfather were unimaginable. Brutality beyond belief. He was on Corregidor.

Yes, I remember it. I posted some research about the identity of the Corsair pilot. Unfortunately, I didn't save my notes and the thread isn't in my list of posts.

Was it deleted?

I seem to recall that someone posted the story of the Corsair pilot. He was a Marine. He was taken prisoner, had some teeth knocked out in captivity but did survive and return home.

I wonder if the crew of the B-29 shown were killed in the crash or by the Japanese?
