Ok guys, not starting a rumor, but I hope to confirm it is not...

But I have been on a search to find a C-47 astrodome. I had a gentleman contact me from the barnstormers ad I placed saying he had one. However, I have asked him two times now to send a picture of the astrodome and he sent me two pics of the nav room the first time and the last two pics were of the IWM's C-47 hanging from the roof and an engine.

This is what he said to me in the email, but something doesn't seem right. He wants payment via money gram, so I'm a little skeptical now since he is not sending what I'm asking for.

Quote:
Tyler, I have attached a photo of the douglas c-47 where the astrodome
and if you require other parts they will be taken from as the company
here is stripping it out to get the engine out for another aircraft.
We also have a spare C-47 Engine in case you are interested.

Do they have a second C-47 there that they may be parting out?

Sounds like it's time to move on. If Moneygram is anything like Western Union, there is no tracability.

Yeah that is what I am thinking as well. I asked about paypal and he said he can not use it as it is currently "dormant".

yup definitely a scam. I searched his name and found this thread on an auto forum.

I sort of wish there was a way we could proceed and catch this guy.

Have you checked with the folks at Basler? They remove the astrodomes as part of the turbo conversion...

I contacted them by phone and then by email last year and they more or less just blew me off. Plus everything they seem to sell for C-47/DC-3's is considerably marked up in price.
