Also, while constructing this gallery I noticed this picture


of a B-17F (or maybe E) that apparently sports twin 50's through the nose plexi. Never seen that before and wondered if it was done in other Forts and does anybody have a better view of this type of installation.

Scott, I'm quite sure I've seen this type of installation in at least one of the Forts in William Wyler's Memphis Belle documentary. I have no idea if the images would provide the kind of detail for which you're searching though.

Hi Scott, It's Lockheed Vega B-17F, 42-5725, 381st BG, 352nd BS, VE-C,
she made it thru the war back to the States. "THIS IS IT" (later, Luscious)

As for the twin-50's on the F, there are about 6 or so photos on the 381st
noseart page with representatives of the mod from the 532,533,534, and
535 BS. "Full Boost", "Martha the II", "Miss Abortion", "Mission Belle","The
Last Straw", and "Ron-Chee"
