All,

I will be travelling to Frankfurt, Germany for work and will have a weekend to do some sightseeing. Any suggestions, interesting aircraft, airfields or museums in the vicintity? Thoughts on trying to visit Flugwerk?
I will be bringing my camera, and will share pic upon return

All suggestions are appreciated.

Warren

Two good museums well worth a trip are at Sinsheim and Speyer. Both have a very high aviation content, and lots of other interesting stuff as well.

The Mercedes-Benz museum at Frankfurt is also worth a look too.

I am hoping for many replies to Warren's post as I may have the chance to travel to Germany in the next year.

Warren... Please post a report when you get back. I am looking forward to any tips you may have about traveling in Germany. Despite my German sounding last name, I have never been there. Also being unilingul may be a challenge.

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike S, Thanks for the links to the museums. If I can't convince one of my German co-workers to drive to Gammelsdorf to visit Flugwerk, I might be visiting these museums.

Mike H, This is my first time to Germany, as this is a two-week working visit, I only wished I had more free time to sight see. You can bet that I'll make the most out of my weekend, and I'll post pics upon return.
