Capt. Maurice “Mo” Morrison of the 352nd Fighter Squadron looks to be standing awfully close to that spinning P-47 prop. What do you think? deceiving distance in the photo? Never-the-less looks to be a bit too close IMO. Obviously not a problem for Capt. Morrison when you read his bio in the link below. Another hero who served his country well. (where's the salute smilies when you need one)

352nd Fighter Squadron. Capt. Maurice “Mo” Morrison joined the Squadron in April 1943 and served two tours flying both Thunderbolts and Mustangs from Metfield and then Raydon. Interesting service history of Capt. Morrison here,

Compression of the depth of field from a telephoto lens? Or, maybe he just has big brass ones.

Look up the sizes of a Jug's prop. He's standing well away from it in that first photo.

I wouldn't say he's "well away" but he seems not in too much danger there. Just looks a bit tricky if that T-bolt starts moving (no chocks)

Look at shadows. Assuming he is typical 5'6", I recon he is not 10' in front of the prop. Hope he has a happy crew chief and good brakes.

Afraid of the prop...? What was he about to do in that plane? Kids had no fear.
