Not sure about the rest, but Number 4 I will answer.

I was going to say it was an R-6. However, upon further examination, you can see Doman on the side. A little research shows that the Doman LZ-1A was a modified R-6A. So that is my answer.

Rob, is that a Super Cat (PBY-6A) at the African(Ethiopia?) overhall facility during WWII? Looks like Marston Mat on the ground.
(That's my opinion, we welcome yours!)

PBY-5As with spark arrestors and eyeball turrets from Steward Davis in Long Beach, CA being prepared (note the mockup engines) for use in "Tora! Tora! Tora!"

Rob, you got some good ones here. I am going to guess that the first one is the 1913 Schneider Trophy winner, a Deperdussin Monocoque.

I like all airplanes Rob. Even the UGLY ones! Could never have guessed on the Cats though. I also have no idea on the remaining airplane. Not enough details (or maybe resolution) for me to be able to tell anything about it. Keep sending the quizzes. Education is part of the reason I visit this site as often as possible. The other is to see who is biting whose leg off today. Gotta love male soap operas!

hey robb, i requested a pm'd quiz that i can take as time allows, as the other guys are answering the pics before i have a chance for a crack at them. i've been pretty busy lately. pm me a quiz, i'll take it, when i can, & without anybody beating me to the button. & if pass it, you can give me my grade. if i flunk you can put the dunce cap on me. my either pass or fail results to be on the open thread. yikes!! :?
