Morris Ray's AT-6 N66WP

Wed Dec 10, 2014 11:24 pm

Hey guys,

I'm trying to remember the connection Gary Austin had with this attractive looking AT-6. What was the history behind her? Gary's association? And the story behind the paint scheme? Is this an authentic scheme?

Im trying to pick markings for an all yellow AT-6 Im building.

Light green stripes in the Navy during the time period = Instrument Trainer. There would have originally been green stripes on the outer wing panels as well. That green looks a little on the light side however (maybe it is just the light in the photo...?).

IIRC, Gary had built several T-6's from parts, & I believe this airplane was one of those.
