One more from my Christmas vacation. I always try do a few post when at the beach and have the time.
All photos are from the U.S.F.G. unless otherwise noted.
This one will probably it, at least for a few days, I did promise someone I would try & do something with HUP's, if you don't know what they are, we will try & educate ya. It's back to work Monday.
Here we go 1947 Military Aviation, I have a B-29 surprise in this one, has something to do with a "Bird".

A U.S. Navy Grumman F7F-3N Tigercat in flight carrying a Mark 13 torpedo that incorporates "box" fins on the tail. Made of plywood, they stabilized the torpedo when it hit the water and broke away when the torpedo entered the water. The nose of the torpedo normally featured a plywood casing as well. Date 1947 -
