Yep..Aichi E13A "Jake" floatplane. Looks reasonably intact..I'd love to see it salvaged. It could either be preserved "as recovered" or form the basis of a nice static restoration.

I would be willing to bet that aluminum skin is wafer thin after all those years under water and you could poke holes in it with your finger.

Why would that matter? I can't think of a major restoration recently that hasn't been totally reskinned.

The world already has 2 unrestored preserved as is......

Even a total rebuilt would be a fair add-on to the community!

I doubt it would survive being removed from the water.
