Planes of Fame YP-59A Airacomet Help

Tue Mar 17, 2015 4:21 am

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a construction or production number for the Airacomet at POF, serial 42-108777? Also is there an N-number for the a/c or that has been reserved for the a/c? I can't find either one listed anywhere on the internet so I was hoping someone here would have that info. I like to get the correct information put in when I upload my photos on the internet. Thank you

Stephen

C/n 27-10.

For info:

Bell YP-59A 42-108777 was one of seven aircraft on Contract AC 21931 SA1 (42-108771 thru 108777) funded as Experimental aircraft (the two subsequent YP-59As were funded as Army/Navy programs). The contract was placed March 26th, 1942.
