Not that I would pick on our beloved Col. Rohr. Buuuuuttttttt, the person who wrote the ad has almost the same unique writing style as Rob.

the zero feedback rating of the seller really instills alot of confidence for me to bid & win & shell out those kind of $$$$ bones for the auction  yeesh!!! pretty ballzy in my book!!

Interesting too is the lack of a reserve minimum on this plane.

Ya, but the high bidders rating is 0 to so it evens out.
Actually a 0 because you're new is better than 0 because you're
a deadbeat!

A bunch of these were just surplused through GSA in the last few months. This A/C was one of them. I dont remember any being that complete, most had engines hung on them that were cores to keep the nose on the ground. I dont remember this particular A/C but I believe most of them went on the cheap side.

He is going to have ALOT of work ahead of him, First thing he is going to need to find brakes for it, that will be a chunk of change plus the work to make it fly, I heard that this was one of the "hanger gueens" parts robbed off it to keep others flying. Good Luck to him, when he is done he will have a Fun twin warbird he can go to shows with a bunch of friends !!!

Are the S2F's still sitting across the street from the St.Augustine airport???? I remember those were pretty gutted too. But Grumman still had a lot of parts laying around inside their compound.

This is a question brought up by Jim on another thread related to the stoof - what do you think the interest in this kind of warbird might be from a air show community?

Would you want a ride in a C-1 Trader? What would you be willing to pay for a ride?

I had thought about this a bit - if you got it all working right it might make a cool "demo" of sorts - start in front of the crowd with wings folded, unfold and taxi, do a STOL and then a few photo passes followed by a carrier style landing (sort of  ) then taxi back.

Could it work, would the masses be interested? it would have to somehow to justify the $$

Thinking,

Tom P.

You could offer rides to Airshows with it, that could help cover costs plus whatever an airshow would give you for showing up.

Then again there might be a law or two preventing that. :?

I was impressed by a S-2 demo at the Indianapolis Airshow a few years ago.
