"The lower wing marking is for Air Group 85 off of CV-38 Shangri-La, while the tail is for Air Group Ten off Intrepid. Shangri-La hit the west coast after shake down in early February, 1945, and VF-85 exchanged their 30 F4U-1Ds for a similar number of F4U-1Cs. Intrepid was coming out of repair in San Francisco (Hunters Point) following a kamikaze hit about the same time, and a weekly aircraft summary report shows Air Group ten based at NAS Alameda but VBF-10 with 20 F4U-1Ds down in San Diego (where Shangri-La had stopped before heading to Pearl Harbor). So, most likely this is a VBF-10"

Zero Surprise!!...

For years I've been planning to build a model Corsair like this. There is one with a variety of parts off from other Corsairs. It makes for an interesting look with different shades, from old and reused parts.

A lighter version of the photo shows this particular Corsair having a load of 'stuff' (rockets, bomb and drop tank) hanging below. The second photo I attached in the original post must have been taken after unloading this 'stuff' as it looks the drop tank is now gone? At least looks that way ...
