Hello, I was reading the may/June Warbird digest and it has a big section about the skyraider. It has a picture of a skyraider with the engine on the ground. It says "When surplused by the U.S Navy BuNo 132534 was destined to be a static display. It latter passed pn to private ownership and became a derelict in Utica, New York." Then it goes on to show it in storage at Stead Field, Reno(2004). Does anyone know anything about it currently. I am researching it on the internet to try to find out some more infromation. Thank you for reading.

I did a Yahoo! search on "Skyraider" + "132534" and came up with the following:

Steve Bradish
While on our 2006 reunion in Portland, we toured the Evergreen Aircraft Museum where they are restoring an AD-5N/Q that was in our squadron in 1957 -58. I am asking all of our pilots and crewmen if they have ever flown in this aircraft, Bureau #132534. If so, please let me know when, where, and if she was on one of our VAN teams.

I did a quick check of the Evergreen Aviation Museum's web site at www.sprucegoose.org and could not find this Skyraider mentioned. You might want to contact them and see if they can provide additional information.

A check of the FAA's website did not find a Skyraider registered with a serial number of 132534 or 8929.

If you find out anything concerning this aircraft, please keep us all informed.

Todd

At the following website, the aircraft is listed as belonging to a Mr. Harry Doan of New Smyrna Beach, FL:

The site indicates it is stored, awaiting restoration. How current this info is, dunno...

Quite old I guess, I thought Harry Doan was killed when his Skyraider overturned about 15 years ago now and everything was auctioned off late 92. Unless this is a different Harry Doan of course.

This airplane is listed under the Evergreen collection list under "bombers". Mr Doan passed away in AD-4N 126882, which, IIRC, is now owned by Rick Sharpe.

I think this might be the bird that my freind Juan Reddik picked up out in Texas along with a Martin Mauler. Your best bet is to get ahold of him and get he details, he is down working in Chino, CA on a F-86 project at Planes of Fame.
