Kind of an unusual view of Mustangs working out. This was a heat race in iffy weather at the 1994 Phoenix Air Race, at the former Williams AFB. Robert Converse on the left, one of the Museum of Flying guys in the middle, and Bill Speer in the lead.

Skip Holm, who I think flew two tours in Nam in F-105s and another in Phantoms, has said much the same thing. So has Tom Dwelle, who had a zillion combat hours in Skyraiders. These guys all loved racing.
