Does anyone have any photos of the CASA 2111 currently at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, prior to its purchase by the museum in 1995?
The aircraft has a date of manufacture of 27th Sep 1950 with s/n B2-H-155.
From 27th Sep 1950 until 14th Dec 1956 it was in storage and modified for photo-recon duties and given a new s/n of B2-I-27.
Delivered to Spanish Air Force on 14th Dec 1956.
From 14th Dec 1956 to 13th Nov 1972 it served with 403 Squadron, (Cartography and Photographic), Cuatro Vientos.
From 13th Nov 1972 to 29th Jan 1974 with 406 Squadron, Torrejon
From 29th Jan 1974 to 21st Jan 1975 with 46 Group - Gando Air Base, Canary Isles.
From 21st Jan 1975 to 23rd Jun 1976 stored at the Air armament workshops, Seville.
It was at this time it was sold, and eventually ended up in the USA (via, England, Scotland, Iceland and Canada) on 14th October 1977.
(I've seen the photo of the CASA 2111 at Duxford which has the tail number B2-I-27, but this aircraft is in fact B2-I-103).
Any help, links, contacts would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
"Needle".
