Col Roy Reid died late Thursday, 18 Sep 2015. Burial in National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Ceremony also to be held there on Dec 7, 2015.

Roy Reid was Ray Swenson's copilot on 7 Dec as they flew into war. Their plane was shot up by Lt Comdr Shigeru Itaya in Zero AI-155. They were able to land their B-17C despite the raging fire in the radio room.

I had the privilege of meeting Col. Reid several years ago when we took him for a ride in our T-6 at Vintage Flights. It was a 90th birthday present from his wife. It was quite an honor to sit and talk with him about his experiences at Pearl Harbor and afterward.
A true American Hero!
