Which planes did Evergreen end up selling and where did they go? Do they have much of a collection left after unloading these planes?

P-38, B-17, P-40 and BF-109. They were bought by the Collings Foundation and they will return the P-38 and B-17 to airworthiness for sure plus maybe the P-40 too.

I could be wrong, but I think those aircraft were part of the deal with the museum being bankrupt and the CF bought them out of bankruptcy and as a result they own these airplanes now. -I could be way off on that though so anyone feel free to correct me.

Check out this article http://www.aero-news.net/index.cfm?do=m ... 1b9dc6913a

There's also a good interview about it with Rob Collings on Warbird Radio.

I think it's a safe bet no one wants to move...or can afford to move...the H-4.
Other aircraft there were given to the Museum (by Evergreen before it went broke and others) so they'll stay.
Other aircraft like the SR-71 are on loan from the DoD.

I'm sure they have a worthwhile collection.

BTW: They also sold the Ford Tri-Motor in addition to the warbirds.

Well, they did move it from California, so clearly it can be moved.

As I said...it's probably more a question of cost.
Having it didn't prove to be the goldmine Evergreen hoped for, I'm not sure it would do better anyplace else. I guess they could move it to Vegas (after destroying it by cutting it up into road-capable loads), but in 10-15 years they'd want the real estate for a hotel...and bye-bye airplane.
