Earlier in the year there was a discussion here about the P-38 at McGuire AFB in NJ coming down off its perch for some restoration/refurbishment. Did the airframe ever get back onto its pedestal or are they going to find an indoor home for it?

Havent seen anything since the article when it was brought down from the pole most recently. However, a little bit of Googling has uncovered this interesting tid-bit... A solicitation for pricing on restoring a P-38.

For folks who may search this topic, it's McGuire.

Plans are for it to be indoors in a display hangar/museum.

Good.

It's too valuable and historic to park in the rain.
