HI,
Any news on the Watson lake B26 Marauder nose section?, Has any work been done on it ?, or does it still sit on the trailer at the Airport ?.
I think I know the answers but there's no harm in asking anyway !.
Thanks Station 342

I thought it had been impounded by the Canadian Govt. and cast into the deep shadows where the light of day shines not.

Only the forward fuselage was recovered, apparently the only portion of the Martin B-26 in the lake. The bomber had been declared salvage during WWII after it crash landed on the frozen lake. The prevalent theory is that, after the salvage, the detached forward portion broke thru the ice at some point and sank, resting there until recovered about 5 or so years ago. Others here may have more information on the crash itself and the circumstances, I recall some did.

IRRC There was a P-39 that splattered across the ice as well.

Anyone know how these brothers came out in court?

By: Bob Weber THE CANADIAN PRESS, Published on Fri Jun 05 2009
The fate of a derelict Second World War bomber once nicknamed ``The Flying Prostitute" is up in the air since two Calgary brothers fished part of it out of a remote Yukon lake.
The brothers want to complete the salvage and see the B-26 Marauder restored and placed in a museum. But the territorial government, suspecting a profit motive, has grounded their plans and is charging the pair with violating the territory's heritage legislation.
