If i'm not mistaken they bulldozed a lot of equip. on Guam and covered it all with coral, now Paseo park ?

One the reasons for dumping the stuff was the automobile companies did not want to see the market flooded with nearly new vehicles. I knew a guy whose father dumped trucks into the ocean off Long Island, New York. This is also the reason that so few former bomber and transport aircraft were converted to airliners, the airframe manufacturers petitioned the government to scrap most of them and to make it more difficult for companies other than the original to convert them.
