In need of P-47N Ordinates and loft lines.

Working on cadding up the P-47D-23-RA and we have run into an issue. We have loft drawings for the early D models and for the late D models. We are comparing our CAD model of the loft to the stretch block for the belly skins from the Dottie Mae restoration. The bottom center line we got from the loft drawing is relatively flat from the secondary cowl to the back of the wing. However the belly skins for Dottie Mae have a pronounced bulge to them starting at the secondary cowl and going to just behind the crash skids. We have been checking everything we can find and have found this bulge in the belly skins to be standard to every model after the B and C models, so starting somewhere around the P-47D-5 or so. However the bulge is not shown in any of the ordinate/loft drawings and the skin drawings themselves do not have them. The all show a centerline that is pretty straight with no bulge. We are hoping to find either information on perhaps a retrofit or the N model ordinates/loft drawings in the hope that the bulge will be present there. Any info you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Yanks museum. Judging from what I saw years ago, they have the "N" drawings.

Rob,

Beautiful work as always. I'd like to see the same for the T-6 and it's lineage.

Try Air Corps in Bemidji. Check out their print and data service.
