I just noticed a change in the FAA registration database regarding Grumman G-21A aircraft; as of Jan. 21, 2016, N7821 (Grumman G-21A s/n B-47) is now registered to Yanks Air Museum. As I recall, that was one of the ones registered to Roy Mabee at least up until recently. I had heard rumors of a Goose or two belonging to him being shut away in hangars at Chino and being restored - or maybe not so actively.

Does anyone know more about this recent change of ownership in particular?

And last time I checked, the YAM web site still had the same error regarding airspeeds for the Goose that they had there (in reference to N329, s/n B-140) probably literally as much as 3 or 4 years ago when I wrote them to call their attention to the errors - and they still have not made a correction.

Yep, there it is. They have it as:

"Cruise: 191 mph

Top Speed: 130 mph"

That's kinda' backwards at best.

Yanks had a project they were reskinning. Could it be nearing flight?

I was in Roy's hanger about 20 years ago and I think he had a Goose and a Widgeon among others in there.
