During my spare time in San Antonio over the last two weeks, I set out to put eyes on and photograph all the military static display aircraft at the numerous military bases in the city.

This is the list of airplanes, serial numbers, and my notes. I have photos of all of them, but there are literally hundreds of shots...too many to post even on an online album. If anyone has specific requests, I'm more than happy to post shots here.

Nice work , Randy. You've been busy. lotta attaboys ! :D

But you missed one. There's a Jenny in the Edward White Museum at Brooks. Its supposed to be in the USAFs oldest hangar. Not quite sure about that since there is a WWI era hangar down the road at Ft Clark in Bracketville.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the research Randy. Only one teeny tiny problem, the O-2 that you have listed is an O-2B serial number. Its the first B model serial, Cessna c/n 337-0518, formerly registered as N5418S, and when it was at MASDC (D-M) HV0151.

Sorry for the correction, but I kind of have a thing for Deuces. I've had mine since '89.

Just calling it like I see it. As I mentioned in two other threads...no warranties expressed or implied with respect to the IDs, I'm just reporting what was painted on the tail (or what I could find on an ID plate if there was one).

Nothing to be sorry for at all. This is exactly why geeks like me and you read the WIX. This is the Warbid Information Exchange, remember?

So...thanks for the correction. Any idea if the airframe in the pic is actually a B model and is just incorrectly annotated on the painted data block, or is this a jury-rigged Skymaster with a fake ID?

Randy,

Very nice pictures of the O-2!

67-21440/21470 Cessna O-2B-CE Super Skymaster - Batch of civil Model 337s taken from civilian dealers.
21440 (c/n 3337-0518) was previously N5418S. To MASDC as HV0151

Regards,

Amado

A quick way to tell O-2As from an O-2B...the B has prop spinners.

The P-38 is fake.

I'd really enjoy seeing pics of the WWII aircraft, especially the Fw-190 and B-29.
