... hmmm! OK? I guess. Determined by performance and handling I would imagine. They still look good, just not great ... IMHO :hide:

Well, the first one switched back to the three-blade by the time it was shipped to the US. It is now with the Tillamook Air Museum. The four-blade was a temporary fix after the accident with F-AZZJ.

If I recall, the second FlugWerk had not flown or maybe flew a few times and was recently acquired by Jerry Yagan? Hopefully, whatever interpretation the builder had started there will be changed (which appears to be a full cowling and prop from the Tu-2.)

The Fighter Factory Facebook recently posted a photo of lead weight ballast and when someone guessed it was to convert their Flug to a 3 blade they confirmed that was the plan.

Yagens has flown quite a bit. Last year at Warbirds Over The Beach and also at Thunder Over Michigan. It's still pretty sharp looking and can haul a++.
Gonna see it again in about a month, and I hope the 109 in flight.

The first one was at Tillamook. But no longer. It is part of the Erickson collection, so it has been moved to Madras.
Look at the picture on their site: http://www.ericksoncollection.com/aircraft/#/erickson-focke-wulf-190/
You can clearly see they have gone back to a three blade prop.
I hope to see her in September when I intend to visit the Erickson Aircraft Collection.

Eric

Not that it really matters, but the information in the replies of this thread are not up-to-date - the first photo in Mark's post is current, as Erickson has recently refitted the Tu-2 four-blade prop/spinner.

(When that aircraft first flew in Germany, then owned by Yagen, it had the Tu-2 prop/spinner, as the three-blade prop design/setup was under investigation following the prop failure on F-AZZJ. After that was all cleared up and amended, the aircraft was operating with the three-bladed prop here in the US, both with Yagen and then Tillamook/Erickson. It is now operating with the four-bladed prop again.)

Not sure if this is true, but according an entry at Facebook, the one of the Erickson collection was damaged during a ground loop on landing:

I think the four blader looks great..The Germans certainly used 4 blade props on many types including the Do217 etc

I believe that the Frasca 190 has a R2800 engine as will the tri-state museum in Ohio will, from what the docent told me a couple years ago. Do the other 190 replicas use the ASh82 from Russia or use the Chinese copy Dongan HS-7? Are they carbureted or the modern Direct fuel injected?

The one in New Zealand which had a ground-loop last year has an ASh and a three-blade that looks very authentic. WIXer DaveM2 works very close to the shop looking after it so could probably tell you more detail.
