Hot off the presses! Just got word via email that my friend and fellow CAFer has obtained permission for import. In his message today he writes:

"........wanted to let you all know that the ATFE has approved me to import the Sea Harrier. I suspect most of you are up to speed on this, but in case you're not, I've purchased the world's only flyable Harrier in civilian hands and will be importing it to the US the first of the year.

The aircraft is complete, intact, and with very little work (radios, seat, weight and balance) will be flyable. Initial import site will now be Georgetown, DE, for assembly and certification. The airplane may move to another site within a year. Art"

Looking forward to seeing this bird on the circuit!

I think this was already discussed about a month ago. Wasn't it to be operated out of Cherry Point, NC?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Yes we did. Just trying to give everyone the latest scoop. At that time he had not gotten official permission to import.
