Wonderful evening show at Willow Run today. Top notch demo by the Snowbird demo team, the Canadian parachute team and the RCAF F-18 demo (awesome paint). First class all the way Canada!!

Large turnout and good weather. Seems like everyone had a great time. In addition to the Canadians, Yankee was out in full force giving rides in their four flyables. There was a P-51 and a Chanuck on the ramp and a local helo pilot was giving rides.

I have been underwhelmed by the Snowbirds since I was a kid due to their weak jets ,,, But nothing to be done about that, their formation flying is top notch, and pretty unique to say the least to see a 9 jet acrobatic act. They sure scream alot on the radio compared to the calm and measured tones of the Blues and Birds, and their 3 plane abreast landings are sure different.
I always thought they had colorful smoke, but I'm thinking it was the Italian team that used rainbow smoke, and haven't seen them in decades.

CF-18 paint job was superb, underwhelming show though, he only did 1 pass even close to resembling high speed and not even sure if he lit the burners at all ,,, But again, I suppose that was out of his hands, I'm sure he would have liked to have zipped around a bit more. Was close to dusk when he landed, didn't notice any pipe flames at all.

Out standing show by all three acts. Yes Xray the CF-18 pilot lit up the burners through-out. The viewing conditions were not the best, we were looking into the setting sun, so that is probably why you didn't see it. Not the best pictures but some evidence.

Nice shots, must have been pointed away from me for most of the burner action, the majority sounded like full military and even throttled down at times.
