Anyone have any information on what the current status of this Flying Fortress is?

Last time I was there one of the docents said they B-17 was on the slow train because (a) they currently have no place large enough to store it without kicking a bunch of singles engines out and (b) it costs so much more to operate per hour than the single engine planes they currently have in rotation.

Whether that's true or not, who knows, but it seemed fairly credible. Especially considering we don't see the B-25 take to the skies very frequently vs. all the single engine planes they fly with some frequency.
