Does anybody know the current status of the "Black Sparrow" which is part of the CAF Great Lakes Wing based in Gary, IN? All I know is that they have to change an engine and that was way back in early June.

Does anyone know where the Black Sparrow is now?
It is not listed with the FAA any longer under 44-77013 or N227GB.

Just checked the FAA site & it's still listed as being with the CAF as N227GB. Also checked the CAF site & it's listed as being with Hqs.

Thank you. I must have fat fingered the N#.
I see the FAA lists the serial as 33345...

Am I correct that she is part of the deal for the D-Day aircraft that they just successfully crowdfunded the rest of the needed funds for?

I'd hate to see Black Sparrow "go" (although it'll come back as a BT-67), but if it's because the CAF or one of its units is able to preserve "the" plane that led D-Day, then I'm all for it.

Does that mean Black Sparrow is slated for "Basslerization?" A little sad..I miss seeing her at airshows around our region. But at least she'll live on.
