Anyone know what happened to the Philippine air force F-8's that were for sale some years ago?
I recall seeing an ad in aero trader...there were 18 of them...scrapped?

The Phil Air Force purchased 35 F-8H Crusaders, 25 were refurbished and 10 were spares, they were grounded in 1988 and withdrawn in 1991, I remember seeing them in NAS North Island prior to them being shipped to the Philippines. Scrap metal now sitting out to pasture at various airfields, most wrecked by the Mt. Pinatubo volcano. At the time a lot was said that the F8 was too complex an AC for them.
