Hello, I purchased 8 Hamilton Standard blades at an estate auction Saturday. Each blade is 84” long. They are stamped “DWG 6491A - 6S”.

The closest match I have found on line is for “DWG 6491A - 14” which are on a Super Corsair. My blades are roughly 3 inches longer and have a square tip.
Any idea what plane may have used these?

Also at the auction I purchased a spinner and chin scoop from a replica mustang project. I am thinking of mounting these on the garage wall like a deer head trophy mount. (Beer can for scale.)

Hamilton Standard Drawing 6491 specifies a blade shape. However, it can apply to any number of actual blades. The 6491 blade was used on several types which used the R3350 engine, and even on a few that didn't. The 6491A-9 blades were used on some C-46's for example.

I found a stub that referenced the "6491A-6 to 9" and said that it also applied to HS 27E50-781 blades, but I can't find any additional context online for it, so no real help there.

Also stamped on the blades is "MFG R-280026 CONT. AC28744" if this helps.
