Warbird Information Exchange

Here is a seat on auction on eBay, with no identifying markings whatsoever.

Does anyone detect any clues about the seat that might suggest the era, manufacturer, service, aircraft....etc.....?

Appears to be a PT/BT/T series seat. It rides on two guide rails and has shock cord suspension. Seat belts attached to the bucket and has a pair of guide bars to prevent the belts from falling to the bottom of the cockpit when released.

Looks like it's getting some bids already. I should have kept it to myself instead of giving it publicity and driving up the bidding!
Regardless, I'm sure that it deserves to go to a worthy restoration project instead of sitting in a man-cave (like mine)....

Actually it's a mancave piece rather than a flightworthy one. Look at the photo of the bottom of the seat. Large area of exfoliate corrosion. If you want something like that for the mancave, there are better ones out there. Just may take a little looking. Or, if you want to play with sheet metal, build a couple instead.

Or just patch that one and it will be airworthy again, though not suitable for a Paul Allen restoration.
