Along with it's new nose art. Perfectly applied.

From Allied Fighters facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/pg/alliedfight ... e_internal

"Dottie Mae P-47 Thunderbolt Nose Art (Vargas Dec. calendar girl) was originally painted on by Staff Sergeant Samuel L. Kirschenbaum with the 511 Fighter Squadron/405 Fighter Group. His trade was a 754 Radio Mechanic-AAF

On July 13th, 2017 Staff Sergeant Samuel L. Kirschenbaum’s art work of Dottie Mae was recreated by Jeff Devey from Idaho.

We applaud Jeff for an outstanding job on the details on Dottie Mae’s recreation.

Cheers to Staff Sergeant Samuel L. Kirschenbaum and to Jeff Devey!"

From the same media roll-out of the completed aircraft, a lot of nice photos of the aircraft can be viewed here: http://www.idahopress.com/news/local/do ... af7.html#1

(How I would love to see this one and "Sierra Sue II" together - both two bomb-laden 9th Air Force combat vets, in their original markings, and restored to the highest level of originality/authenticity.)

Well John, the P-47 guys from Tennessee want Warbirds in Review to invite them back (as though they need an invitation!) after this year's no-show. Perhaps 2018 should include a Jug gathering in Wisconsin. :drink3:

Fantastic job he did on the nose art recreation.

Thank goodness the original subject is more modest than some. Would have hated to see them compelled to change it.
